About Me

Hello. My name is Thomas Woldert and I am a currently enrolled freshman at the University of Texas at Austin. In the next few years I plan to major in Corporate Communication Studies with a business foundation in the college of Liberal Arts. I took English 309 to fulfill a major requirement, improve my writing skills, and learn more about my generation in general. I have found this class to be very interesting and I am taking great pleasure in introducing my topic to you. I chose to do this web page on the issue of racism on college campuses. Generation X is very naive about how racism and discrimination is effecting the students of generation x. Several different issues led me to the idea of this topic. It is obvious that a good education is extremely important in the new generation.
In this site I plan to inform you on racism on college campuses in generation x. Secondly, I will illustrate how the issue of affirmative action in schools and how it can cause racism in universities. I will also have two links that you can explore on the Hopwood vs. Texas court decision and also how the acedemic standards for the University of Texas Law school are causing racism on our campus. Lastly, I will provide a few links to other people who study racism itself and how it might be solved.
